My baby... One year old??!!

One YEAR Old

People always say the years fly by, well i can honestly say it doesn't seem like a year ago i was bringing baby girl home (scared to death). It's truely amazing how much babies change is one year. Ellie is not quite walking, but she gets around and fast! Everyday you can tell she is learning more and her little personality is just a shining... Well she loves loves loves food... We still have not found anything she will not eat. The only thing she is hesitant on is carrots. Her favorites are banannas, sweet potatoes, turkey, pasta, and eggs. Surprisingly she is not a real big fan of cake, well at least the icing (butter cream) from Publix. I just knew for her first birthday we went to get her picture taken with her "smash" cake after her shots and she could have cared less for the cake - I did attempt to make the cake, but David thought best to buy one after my attempt was a failure....
Baby girl did well for her 1 year check up: 23 lb 93%

Not sure how to respond to this one... First birthday begging with Grizz....

We celebrated her birthday the following Saturday at the house with 20 of HER friends... CHAOS! But entertaining to say the least, the day just flew by and Ellie got some amazing presents that will keep her entertained until Christmas! The weather was cold and rainy so we just had all the toys out in the living her and lets the kiddos go to town...

So many fun new toys to entertain Ellie, thanks!

Ellie loved being in the center of the attention.

One happy lil girl...

The fun did not stop there, the next day we got to celebrate Gracie’s 5th birthday… I honestly cannot get over Gracie being 5 and growing up, no longer a lil girl like Ellie.  We celebrated Gracie’s birthday at the Greenville Children’s Museum that was amazing, even for a one year old.  Ellie found her favorite zone: The Farm, where she got to hang out with the pigs/horses/cows and planting/pulling carrots.  She did enjoy the cupcakes, or we did either way they were eaten.

Serious discussion between Wilbur and Ellie...

11 Months....

11 Months and counting….

Ellie has amazed us every day how much she is growing and changing.  She has little games she plays and loves Peek a Boo… She actually gets to cracking herself up when she plays peek a boo in the mornings with me by standing and squatting in her crib to hide when I come in to get her ready for the day.  If she gets up before I am done getting ready she will pull down her books (we position all around her crib) to "read" and entertain herself.  She still is getting a bath around 5:45 feeding around 6 PM and in bed by 6:30-7 pm sleeping through the night in most cases until 6:30-7 AM.

Her little teeth have been bothering her a little bit, but completely understandable because she does not have one or two coming in, she has all 4 of her top teeth come down, and they are not little.
I love this picture, first because this was when Ellie first started pulling up all by herself and if you look closely out the window David is trimming the trees. Ellie has to know where he is at ALL times!
Headed to the Zoo!

Hanging out in the Nursery while I attempt to clean...

We also started supplementing milk for formula half and half (4 oz formula and 4 oz whole milk).  She gets a bottle in the morning and one or two in the afternoon and then one before bedtime.  Slowly adding more real food, too.  When did my baby grow up??
Ellie is hardcore with her Army style push ups!
Making sure she does not get left behind....

We also got the chance to head down to Charleston for the Wildlife Festival and had the chance to hang out with the Calhouns!  Luna was a hit at Marion Square to say the least.

And to top off Ellie's 11 months, she was dedicated at our church, Riverland Hills Baptist Church, and did amazing.  She was really working the crowd smiling and bright eyed from Dr. Carney.  She looked like a lil angel!  Ellie's grandparents were all able to make it for her dedication and some of her aunts and uncles... :)
